Summer Wine Lyrics
(NANCY):
Strawberries cherries and an angels kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
(LEE):
I walked in town on silver spurs that jingled to
A song that I had only sang to just a few
She saw my silver spurs and said lets pass some time
And I will give to you summer wine
Ohh-oh-oh summer wine
(NANCY):
Strawberries cherries and an angels kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you summer wine
Ohhh-oh summer wine
(LEE):
My eyes grew heavy and my lips they could not speak
I tried to get up but I couldnt find my feet
She reassured me with an unfamiliar line
And then she gave to me more summer wine
Ohh-oh-oh summer wine
(NANCY):
Strawberries cherries and an angels kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you summer wine
Mmm-mm summer wine
(LEE):
When I woke up the sun was shining in my eyes
My silver spurs were gone my head felt twice its size
She took my silver spurs a dollar and a dime
And left me cravin for more summer wine
Ohh-oh-oh summer wine
(NANCY):
Strawberries cherries and an angels kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
Take off your silver spurs and help me pass the time
And I will give to you summer wine
Mmm-mm summer wine

Vernaccia Wines From Italy, Another White Wine To Pay …
Sunday, August 31st, 2008
Vernaccia is another classic white wine that is overlooked by so many as they focus on the 1 or 2 white wines they drink from Italy. I hate to pick on Pinot Grigio but I want people to expand their palates.

What is Devil's Dyke like late in winter evenings?
Sunday, August 31st, 2008I'm thinking of going there with someone and a bottle of wine. I will be driving so whats the best car park to go to?
There is a bar/restaurant at Devil's Dyke - unless you have something else in mind other than drinking wine!
Going north towards the Dyke, just before you reach it the road swings very sharp right (or straight on to the Dyke). Go right there and then on your left after about 1/3 mile you will see a small car park on the left called Summerdown.
If you miss it very soon you will come to a T junction so you have gone about 100 yards too far. Turn round.
The other alternative is to go on up to the Dyke but with the pub being there you wouldn't get much privacy.
Has anyone heard of a british series "First of the summer wine"? and is it available anywhere?
Sunday, August 31st, 2008This was made before Last of the summer wine.
I can't find "First of the summer wine" anywhere, the TV series not the movie currently showing..
Can anyone help?
I've looked everywhere.
'First of the Summer Wine' has never been released on video or DVD. It has been repeated on UKTV Gold in the past, but whether it'll be shown again, I don't know.

Will azalea bushes survive if planted in the "half" wine barrel planters in zone 5?
Saturday, August 30th, 2008Even though they are quite large planters I have heard 3 conflicting theories. They are 3 year old plants which were transferred from one gallon pots bought at a local nursery
.
1) I've been told that azaleas will only last one or two seasons regardless in any size planter.
2) I've heard they will survive in large planters as long as the soil, sun and water requirements are met and that they are wrapped in burlap with some sort of insulation during the winter months.
3) I've heard that they will be fine in the barrel planters as long as the soil, sun and water requirements are met. Not needing any winterizing.
Hi. Winters in a zone 5 can be unpredictably cold and warm, so plants like azaleas could have it rough.
In containers, you are adding in another factor. The freeze thaw will kill the roots, not to mention winter desiccation….
Wrapping them is an option, but you are still dealing with the same issues. .
You may have 1 winter where the plant survives okay, then the next will wipe it out. If you really want to have azaleas in containers, I would consider moving them indoors during the winter.
what is the difference between wine and summer wine?
Saturday, August 30th, 2008
Summer wine in Spain is called a "Tinto Verano". You put a little ice in a glass, half fill the glass with a red wine and top up with a very light lemonade or La Casera as they use here.
It is a lovely refreshing drink on a hot summers day. It has less of an alcohol content which is also better for you in the heat.
Can you substitute white grape juice for white wine in a recipe to make celery soup?
Saturday, August 30th, 2008I don't drink alcohol anymore and I want to make celery soup for my grade school daughter and I. It calls for a half cup of white wine. What can I use instead?
Although made from the same ingredients White grape juice and white wine will give two very different tastes to your soup. You would not want to use the juice because it would be too sweet. As others have said use chicken broth, or water. I would also suggest that you could use cream or milk in it's place. I do not believe that you would want to use vinegar since that would be too tart. The soup will not be quite the same as when you did use wine but it will still be good and nutritious.
