[[ Forgive me if I got the words wrong]]
SUBSCRIBE!! =]
When theres clouds theres always rains
when theres tears theres always pain
So im leaving it all behind me again..
cause im flying south for winter..
I know I should just hold on…
I know I should just be strong..
I been strong for far too long!
Im flying south for winter..
See these hands, I used for wrong..
see these feet, they walked for so long..
I seen that place, I been there and gone…
now im flying south for winter….
Tell me why you tot me none..
Now just look at what I have done..
Take my wounds and make them gone..
im flying south for winter…
Ill find a place where I can rest
take these worrys off my chest..
Ive done all I can.. I tried my best..
now im flying south for winter..
turn this water in to wine..
drown my sorrows one last time..
cause tomorrow! the sun will shine!
im flyin south for winter..
One day you’ll wake.. and ill be gone..
From this place I been for so long..
and ill prey.. you here my song..
when your flying south for winter..

I remember a Winter song
Slipping on a frozen lake
There I’ll miss you when you’re gone
Oh, this winter song
Another cup of brunel wine
Dreams that once seemed so sweet
Are silent empty streets
Streets of tears stained walk go by
And I’ll miss you when you’re near
You’re thoughts are just like stars
Saturdays, hope is raised
By endless stories of desire
And I remember our winter song
Another cup of brunel wine
I remember our winter song
Slipping on a frozen lake
There I’ll miss you when you’re gone
Oh, this winter song
Another cup of brunel wine

Toast
Thursday, October 30th, 2008
Inspired by my own life experiences and luffiethan’s video for Vanessa Carlton’s song “Spring Street” (you can find the link to the video below), I made a slideshow video of Tori Amos’ song “Toast.” I included lyrics for those who are unfamiliar with the words or find it difficult to understand Tori’s intonation.
This song always had incredible meaning to me — it reminds me of my own loss and how I have to let go of the pain. Making this video was a cathartic experience for me.
I selected the images carefully to underline the symbolism of the song:
winter (death, which eventually turns into spring, or rebirth),
fire and light (the soul’s essence),
wine (a “cheers” or “kanpai,” celebrating finality), and
trying to reach for something that you fervently grasp to hold on to because you don’t want to let it go, but are forced to do so.
The images have a blurry stain glass effect, but clarity is gained near the end; you are able to see the minute details of cathedral carvings. This symbolizes the result of the healing process and being able to see clearly again — a new appreciation for life.
